If I delete the WordPress AI article plugin, are the articles it wrote deleted?
In short: No. The posts Wiozen Content Bot writes are ordinary WordPress posts, and its images are ordinary media files. Deactivating or deleting the plugin doesn't touch them. Deleting only clears the plugin's own settings, logs and scheduled runs. Two things to watch: the FAQ structured data in those posts leaves the page along with the plugin, and the key on your Wiozen account stays active.
Where does the bot save the articles?
The bot creates each article as a normal WordPress post, no different from one you wrote by hand. The featured image is uploaded to the Media Library as a normal attachment. The summary, key points, FAQ and related articles section are written into the post content as plain HTML. If you use Rank Math or Yoast, the meta description and focus keyword are saved into those plugins' own fields.
So whether the posts show up doesn't depend on the plugin. With the plugin off, they stay live at the same address with the same content.
Deactivating vs deleting
Deactivate only stops the scheduled runs. Settings, the API key and the log stay where they are; reactivate the plugin and the runs come back on the same schedule.
Delete removes the plugin files and clears only the plugin's own records in the database. Here's what goes:
- All plugin settings, including the API key saved on the site.
- The log and the progress of the last run.
- The list of rejected and skipped topics, and the image history.
- All scheduled runs and image retry jobs.
- The waiting flag on posts whose image couldn't be generated and is queued for a retry.
The uninstall code has no call that deletes posts or media. Published posts, drafts and images stay exactly as they are.
Three things to know before deleting
The FAQ structured data leaves the page
In the bot's posts, the FAQ is both in the text and, for search engines, in FAQPage structured data. The text stays. The structured data, though, is printed into the page head by the plugin while it's active; with the plugin deactivated or deleted, that block no longer appears. The questions are stored on the post, so reinstalling the plugin brings the block back. What structured data does for search and AI answers is covered in the guide to AI-written content visibility.
Drafts waiting for an image stay drafts
With live publishing on, a post whose image couldn't be generated waits in drafts while the image is retried in the background. Deleting the plugin removes that waiting flag too, so those posts won't go live on their own. Before deleting, check the drafts on the Posts screen and publish the ones you want after adding an image by hand.
The key on Wiozen stays active
Deleting removes the key from WordPress only. The key on your Wiozen account keeps working. On the Keys page, find the row labelled WordPress: your-domain and click Revoke. If you connected the same site several times you'll see more than one row; you can revoke them all. More detail is in the account connection guide.
What if I want the bot's posts gone too?
The plugin won't do that for you; you do it from the Posts screen in WordPress. Trashing the posts leaves their featured images in the Media Library, so delete those separately. Before deleting a post, check its internal links: the bot ends every article with links to other posts on your site, and links to a deleted post stay broken in the others.
If I reinstall, will it write the same topics again?
Not the ones it already wrote. The bot knows which topics it has covered from two places: a list kept in its settings and a topic marker it adds to every post it writes. Deleting clears the list, but since the posts aren't touched, the markers stay with them. A reinstalled bot still recognises the topics of the posts on your site.
What's lost is the rejected and skipped topics: those lived only in the list, so the bot may see them as candidates again. Settings start from scratch as well; if you want to keep your category briefs, copy them somewhere before deleting. The steps to reconnect are in the auto-publishing guide.
Frequently asked questions
If I delete the plugin, do the posts go offline?
No. They're ordinary WordPress posts and stay published as they are.
Are the featured images deleted?
No. The images stay in the Media Library as normal attachments.
Does deactivating delete my settings?
No. Deactivating only stops the scheduled runs; settings and the key stay until you delete the plugin.
I deleted the plugin. Can my Wiozen balance still be charged?
The site no longer sends requests. But the key stays active on Wiozen, so revoke the row starting with WordPress: on the Keys page.
Does the FAQ section disappear from the posts?
The FAQ section in the text stays. Only the FAQPage structured data the plugin adds to the page is missing while the plugin is off.
If you've stopped using the plugin, go to the Keys page now and revoke the site's key. To try it again, the plugin is on its product page.
